Motihari (Bihar) [India], October 31 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday addressed a massive public rally in support of BJP candidate Sachindra Prasad Singh in the Kalyanpur Assembly constituency as part of the Bihar Assembly elections.
This marked Chief Minister Dhami’s second visit to Bihar. Earlier, he had addressed two public gatherings and participated in a roadshow.
At the beginning of his address, Chief Minister Dhami paid his respects to the sacred land of Bihar, saying, “I bow before this holy land of Lord Gautam Buddha and Emperor Ashoka, and to East Champaran, the revered abode of Goddess Sita.”
He added that just as Uttarakhand is known as the land of spirituality, Bihar is celebrated as the land of culture and pride. “Whether it is Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, or Delhi, double-engine governments have taken development to new heights. The same journey of progress will continue here in Bihar as well,” he said.
Launching a sharp attack on the opposition, Chief Minister Dhami remarked that the alliance of “Gappu and Pappu” deceived the people and filled their own coffers. “During the regimes of Lalu and Rabri, Bihar was pushed into the swamp of poverty. Law and order were nonexistent, and every government scheme was riddled with corruption,” he said.
He further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar has been freed from Naxalism and jungle raj. “In the past 11 years, the Modi government has sanctioned projects worth over Rs 9.5 lakh crore for Bihar’s overall development. During the rule of Lalu and Rabri, industries fled from the state, whereas today, under the NDA government, the contribution of industries to Bihar’s GDP is steadily increasing,” he added.
Chief Minister Dhami also said that those engaged in dynastic politics in Bihar are opposing the politics of development.
During his speech, the crowd erupted with slogans of “Dhakad Dhami Zindabad” and “Modi-Dhami-Nitish Sarkar Zindabad”.
Bihar Cabinet Minister Santosh Suman was also present on the occasion. (ANI)
